I started school, grade one in Yarker with Ron, so we have known each other 60 years, almost all our lives. I always loved his laugh. Our fathers were on the Yarker volunteer fire department together and our mothers on the ladies auxiliary putting cookbooks together to raise money for the extra’s. I remember riding as a child with him in the back of Yarkers first( bought used) 1920’s fire truck to Tamworth for a parade and we stopped at one of Ron’s relatives I think his grandparents, that lived back there because of some malfunction. Our parents got it fixed and we made it home. Funny what you remember. Ron was a nice honest guy. Sad to hear he is gone. I showed up for his visitation but the doors were locked. I thought it was on till 7 pm but looking again I see it ended at 6 pm. My condolences to you Phylis and any other relatives. He was taken to early. My deepest sympathy.
