Don was a special person. He was a great train engineer and the children loved him. He shared his time by helping all who needed assistance, what a great show of generosity. We could all learn from his example. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and associates. Bill and Val Esford

Don and Linda were an amazing couple. So supportive of each other and great givers to our community, whether for seniors, those needing food security or youth in Scouting.
Don seldom complained about life’s challenges and always found the positives in situations.
He will be missed.

The world is now short a wonderful, caring man whose love for Linda and children was evident in all he did. Don worked tirelessly to make sure that those who knew him would be comfortable and cared for. He was a great craftsman, making all sorts of interesting things – walking sticks, bird feeders, you name it and he made a lot of these things with recycled material.
I consider myself privileged to have known him and called him a friend. His pain is gone and those of us who are left will forever remember the kind, funny and generous person he was. Rest in Peace Don.
My love to you all.

So sorry to hear about Don's passing, he was a lovely man who loved sharing, he used to enjoy Music at Bayride and played the Cajon as we sang songs with the kids.
Don generously gave me a Didgeridoo which is part of my instrument collection now.
A very nice man who will be sadly missed, condolences to Linda and the family.

Gary and I are so saddened to hear of Don’s passing.
He was always a kind and gentle soul whenever we would meet or attend a function with he and Linda, He always had a smile, followed by a joke of some kind!
His continued sense of humour was always apparent, and his love for Linda was always his foremost concern over the years, especially during both having illnesses over the last few years. Even in sickness, Don always kept a good outlook, and tried to make it easier for Linda, family and friends around him.
It was an honour to know him, to laugh with him and to see how much of a gentleman he was.
So now Don, keep telling your jokes, riding the trains and above all rest in peace and love.

We acquired one of Don’s creations, a Baltimore Oriole feeder ,many years ago. Sue hung it on a tree faithfully every year for the last five years with no success. Serendipitously, we had the first pair visit the day I think he passed. We remember Don as it gently swings in the breeze.
He will be missed

Don you were an amazing human and will be sadly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing you. I will especially miss the “dad” jokes although I am not sure if some of them would qualify given the content lol. Rest easy old friend. Andrea and Matt

Don- the affable champion of the “dad joke.” An original- Don was a kind and helpful man. Though he wouldn’t take your grief, he would also not take it if a child was struggling. Thanks, Don!
