David was my cousin and as a youngster I stayed with Aunt Clara and Uncle Gerald often. I can remember David asking Aunt Clara why I didn’t like ketchup on my eggs. David and Aunt Clara attended our wedding in Wellington, Ontario. For the past three years David has come up to visit us. He met my daughters and one of our grandsons, Kaise who is an avid fisherman like David was. I always sent David photos of the fish Kaise caught and David loved to hear about the big ones. We took David to my daughter’s farm Heal With Horses on the golf cart. We live close to the Millenium Trail so we enjoyed nature on the way. He wanted to go back this summer to visit Kaise and the animals. We are so very sad to lose him, our condolences to his family, our and our cousins.

Dave, you were always part of the family, even during the times you and Aunt Sany were on a break. I’ll miss the birthday lunches and all the special moments you shared with us.
With love — you’ll be deeply missed. ❤️

My sincere condolences to Brandy, Rowan, and the Gallagher family.
I had the privilege of working with Dave at the Millhaven asphalt cement terminal near Bath. He was a good, decent person. Dave was very smart, very capable, and highly respected and liked by all. He taught me many things. He spoke of his daughter Brandy, and of times fishing with his brother LeRoy, and of course he was very proud of his grandson Rowan.
Dave was gentleman and he will be missed. May his memory be eternal.

My deepest sympathy to Dave's family at this sad time. Dave was always a special part of my life from the day I was born. He teased me mercifully when I was little and into my early teens. On my 19th birthday he introduced me to my future husband, Duke who I was fortunate to spend more than 50 years with. Although over the years we did not keep in constant touch after our move here to Thompson, Dave visited us when he could and whenever either of us returned to Bath, Dave was one of the first persons we contacted and boy those times were full of laughter and memory making. I will miss the yearly phone call at Xmas and every memory of you Dave reminds me of how important to my family you really were. Rest in peace - give my love to Aunt Clara and Uncle Gerald - I will miss you my friend! Lynn Taylor and family

Q: What will you never forget about David?
A: When I was a child and felt all alone, you stepped in and became the big brother I needed. For that, I will always be thankful. You weren’t just family — you were my brother in every way that mattered.
There are so many memories I’ll hold onto — all filled with fun, laughter, and your big-hearted presence. From our trip to Cedar Point, to Shipshewana, Frankenmuth, Tennessee — and yes, even our adventures to the casino — we shared so many good times. You made life lighter.
When Flossie and I renewed our vows for our 25th anniversary, I asked you to be my best man — and of course, you were there. Just like you were there for my surprise 50th birthday party. I had no idea what was going on, but seeing you walk in meant everything.
You always showed up. For the big things. For the little things. Even for a phone call just to talk.
And now, brother, I’ll miss those calls. I’ll miss your voice, your laugh, your stories — and just knowing you were there.
You will always have a place in my heart. And though you’re no longer here with me, I know you’re at peace.
I love you. I miss you. And I thank God for the time we had.

Q: What will you never forget about David?
A: When I first met Dave, after Gary and I were married, he welcomed me with open arms. From the very beginning, he made me feel like part of the family. He had a way of making everyone feel included, appreciated, and loved.
There are so many memories with Dave that I will cherish forever — so many fun times filled with laughter. He had a light spirit, a great sense of humor, and a heart that reached out to others without hesitation.
One thing I’ll always hold close is our plan to go back to the mountains of Tennessee together. We never got to make that trip — but I believe God has taken you to even higher mountains now. A place more peaceful and beautiful than we could ever imagine.
You’ll always have a special place in my heart, Dave. You weren’t just family — you were my bonus brother-in-law. And I will miss you deeply.

Q: What will you never forget about David?
A: Growing up, some of my favorite memories were the times we spent visiting uncle Dave. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome — like you mattered just by being around him. Whether it was when I was a kid staying or years later as an adult, that feeling never changed.
One memory I’ll always cherish is our first Detroit Tigers game together. He was so excited. I had gotten us Tiger Den seats — the best seats at Comerica Park — and I remember the whole experience like it was yesterday. I bought him a program, and we sat there laughing, talking, enjoying hot dogs and water while watching the game. We stayed until the fireworks lit up the night sky, and I’ll never forget how happy he looked. It wasn’t just a baseball game — it was a moment of connection, joy, and something we both truly enjoyed.
And then there was that week I stayed with him — he drove into town just to pick me up from the bus stop. That small gesture meant a lot. That week, I learned so much from him.
He was always there in the important moments. I remember having a conversation with him at my wedding — just the two of us for a moment at the beginning of the celebration. He was so positive and supportive. He believed in me, and it meant more than I probably told him at the time.
Uncle Dave taught me a lot. About sports, kindness, loyalty, laughter, and how to show up for the people you care about. I’ll miss him deeply — more than I can put into words. But I’m grateful for every memory, every talk, every shared laugh.
Thank you, Uncle Dave For everything.

Just a few memories Dave had such as already mentioned, he loved the hunting camp and liked taking the kids, climbing the hill to the beaver dam, picking wild blueberries for delicious pie .He also loved going to Michigan visiting Gary and Florence, going to Mickey D's for a good milkshake.
Another memory of his was going to Tennessee to the Smoky Mountains to a Chalet. We visited Gatlinburg where we got great ice cream cones and great fudge. He liked going to Cades Cove which was the remains of an old village, lovely stream and we even got to see Black Bears and Cubs. I am sure Dave is at peace now. RIP David you will be missed
Your Loving Friend Sandra
