Obituary of Colleen Horton (Closs)

Colleen passed away peacefully at the Kingston Health Sciences Centre on Thursday, October 9, 2025, in her 72^nd year. Caring and loving wife of Tony Horton for 43 years. Lovingly remembered by her son Tyler Horton (Meghan) and by her two granddaughters. Predeceased by her parents Harold and Beatrice Closs and by brothers Kirby Closs (Carole), Kevin Closs and Shawn Closs (late Robin). Survived by her sister Darlene Love (late Russell). Sister-in-law of the late Ron Horton (Donna), the late Stan Horton (late Joan), the late Wayne Horton (late Carol), Virginia Badour (late Ronald), Jerry Horton (Earla) and the late Sandra Davison (late Gary). Remembered fondly by several nieces and nephews and their families. Special thanks to neighbours Wendy and Caroline for their support and friendship, also the Cancer Centre at KHSC, and all Doctors and Nurses on Connell 10 who provided compassionate care to Colleen.

The family will receive friends to Celebrate Colleen’s Life at Payne Funeral Home in Odessa on Sunday, October 26^th from 1 – 3 pm, with words of remembrance at 2 pm. A private family Interment will be held at Henderson Cemetery at a later date. For those desiring, memorial donations to the Cancer Society will be remembered with appreciation by the family.
