Obituary of Douglas Kerry Smith

Doug passed away peacefully at the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital on Saturday, January 3, 2026 in his 89^th year. Dearly beloved husband of Shirley (née Henderson) for 62 years. Sadly missed by his sons, Brian (Vickie), Mark (Lori) and Phil (Kirsten), and chosen daughter Anjela Wilson. Caring grandfather of Chelsea (Jesse), Alyssa, Kate, Natalie, Jacob and Emily. Dear brother of Sandra Vanberkel (John). Doug is predeceased by his parents Harvey and Helen Smith, his brothers Jack, Bob and Don, and sisters Jean, Audrey and Carol. Lovingly remembered by sisters-in-law Jean Smith and Sandra Henderson (David), and by many nieces and nephews and their families.

The family will receive friends at Payne Funeral Home, 178 Main St., Odessa on Thursday, January 8^th from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Funeral Service at Emmanuel United Church, 63 Factory St., Odessa on Friday, January 9^th at 12 pm. A reception will follow. For those desiring, memorial donations to Emmanuel United Church or Crohn’s and Colitis Canada would be appreciated.
