Obituary of Larry Acres

Larry Kevin Acres was born on February 5^th, 1963.

After a short, but tumultuous fight with cancer, Larry passed away in his sleep in the early hours of the morning on December 29th, 2025. Thanks to the fantastic care of those at the Ottawa Civic Hospital, Larry spent his final days surrounded by loved ones.

Raised in Spencerville Ontario, Larry grew up embracing small-town hospitality and a farmers work ethic. Many of his greatest joys in life were adventuring outdoors, and camping at the lake with friends and family. He created countless memories spent beside his most cherished loved ones.

He was a proud son, husband, father, cousin and nephew. Larry worked hard throughout his life and career and he filled his spare time with family, friends and football.

He met the love of his life, Linda, in 1990, and married soon a few years later. Together they raised and treasured their two daughters, Jasmine and Alyssa. Larry instilled in them his lust for life and appreciation of the little things life has to offer - Saturday morning cartoons, backroad rides with the windows down and music up, and Sunday brunches at Gram and Poppy's.

Those who knew Larry will remember him for his kind smile, hardworking hands, great storytelling, and incredible sense of humor. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten by the many friends and family he leaves behind.

Larry was predeceased by his parents, Bryce and Phyllis Acres, and his in-laws, Grace and Lionel Lamoureux. He is survived by his wife, Linda Acres, and his daughters, Jasmine Acres (Riley Limbeek) and Alyssa Acres.

A Celebration of Larry’s life, and a belated 63rd birthday, will be held at the Roebuck Hall on Sunday, February 15, 2026 from 12-4 pm. A luncheon will be provided. For those desiring, memorial donations to any palliative care centre in your area, would be greatfully appreciated.
