Obituary of Laurie James Richmond

Suddenly after several years of poor health, Laurie passed away at his condo in Cape Canaveral, Florida on January 10^th, 2026, in his 75^th year.

He leaves behind his son Mick Richmond of Napanee and his grandchildren Caleb Richmond, Hailey LeCoupe (Zack), Amber Davis (Liam Ashdown) and Ian Storring Jr. Predeceased by his daughter Melissa Richmond.

 

Born February 22^nd, 1951 in Napanee, Laurie was the son of the late Glenn and late Marguerite Violet (McConnell) Richmond, brother of the late Betty Jane Richmond, Terry Richmond of Napanee, Mark (Kelly) Richmond of Roblin, and uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Laurie was a long-time custodian at Napanee District Secondary School, retiring in 2001. He then moved to Cape Canaveral, Florida to spend his last years enjoying the warm weather. Laurie lived life as he wanted and everywhere he went he made friends. He always had a smile and a gentle soul. 

 

Thank you to our cousin Cheryl Feller and her family for keeping an eye on Laurie all these years.

He will be entrusted into the care of Payne Funeral Home in Odessa and a graveside service will be held in the spring at Riverview Cemetery in Napanee.
