Obituary of Ted Henderson
It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of Edward (Ted) Dickson Henderson on Sunday 18 January 2026 at home after a short battle with cancer. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his devoted wife Tracy (nee Brown) and cherished daughters Hannah and Hailey. Dear son of Malcolm (Mac) and the late Gail Henderson. He will also be deeply missed by his brothers Andrew (Laurie) and Paul, nieces Kaitlyn and Cassandra (Mathew) Taylor, Father and Mother-in-law Barry and Darlene Brown, and sister-in-law Michel (Bernie).
As the youngest of the brothers, Ted had a carefree childhood often following his brothers around and participating in the mischief around Weston, ON. A talented athlete excelling at hockey, football and rugby. He joined the Army Cadets having adventures of his own.
Ted joined the Canadian Armed Forces with the Governor General’s Horse Guards in 1989 at the age of 19, and had a successful career as an armoured solider reaching the rank of Master Warrant Officer, making numerous friends across the country along the way until his release in 2011.
Proud of his family, he especially enjoyed trips to sunny destinations with all his girls, attending Maple Leafs hockey games and the new life and friends they made in Amherstview ON. He also loved reading and history similar to his dad.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Ted’s life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 631 (4034 Bath Rd, Kingston, ON) on Friday 30 January 2026 from 2:00 - 5:00 pm.
For those desiring, memorial donations to Crohn’s and Colitis Canada in Ted’s name will be remembered with appreciation by the family.
Arrangements are entrusted to Payne Funeral Home in Odessa.
