Obituary of Cornelis Nieuwkoop

It is with broken hearts that the family of Cornelis (Cory) Alexander Nieuwkoop announce his passing on Thursday, January 29, 2026, in his 29^th year. Cory was predeceased by his beloved Oma Antonia, his Opa Cornelis (Neil) Nieuwkoop, and his Grand-dad Edward Brown.

He leaves behind his loving parents, Rosemary and Cornelis (Neil) Nieuwkoop, his beloved partner Marisa Grice, his cherished brothers, Tyler and Nicholas, and his dear, cherished and loving Nana, Audrey Brown. Cory was a devoted nephew and cousin, dearly loved by many aunts, uncles, and cousins, and he will be deeply missed by his extended family.

Cory had a kind and generous heart and loved helping others whenever he could. He had a deep passion for cars and spent countless hours working on them, with dreams of becoming a mechanic someday. He also had a deep love for his animals and took great joy in caring for them.

Known for his sense of humour, Cory loved telling jokes and bringing smiles to those around him. He will be treasured and deeply missed by his many friends and acquaintances, and lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
 

A Celebration of his Life will be held at the Payne Funeral Home in Odessa on Sunday, February 8^th from 1-4 pm. In memory of Cory, memorial donations to the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation (UHKF) would be appreciated in support of their mental health programs.
