Obituary of Grace Pustowka (Middleton)

Please share a memory of Grace to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Grace Elizabeth Rose (née Middleton) Pustowka, beloved wife of the late Karol Pustowka and affectionately known as “Zzaz” to her family. She died peacefully on February 20, 2026, at the age of 87 at Lennox and Addington County General Hospital in Napanee, Ontario with family by her side.

Born on April 11, 1938, in Montreal, Grace lived a life defined by intellect, kindness, and resilience. She worked as an executive secretary with Shell Canada and Noranda Copper. She was devoted to raising her daughters and caring for her family. She enjoyed gardening, painting, and reading. She cherished time at her parents’ cottage and her sister’s home in Saint-Gabriel-de-Brandon, as well as vacations in Myrtle Beach. In recent years, she enjoyed crossword puzzles with her sister Dodo on video calls and shared family photos on her iPad.

Grace was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Edna Middleton; her sister, Margaret; her brothers-in-law Tony Lefebvre and Adam Pustowka; and her nephew, Keith Lockett.

She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Krystyna de Souza (John) and Anastazja “Stacey” Pustowka; her sister Dorothy Lefebvre; her sister-in-law Sandra; her nieces and nephews Rick Lockett (Jane), Katherine Gowan Lacombe (Jean-Pierre), Christopher Pustowka (Caroline), and Corey Brett (Ian); her grand-nephews Patrick (Natacha) and Matthew (Roxanne), along with their children; her cousins; family in Newfoundland, and good friends, especially in Bath, Ontario.

In keeping with her wishes, her ashes, together with those of her husband Karol, will be laid to rest at Complexe Funéraire des Trembles in Montreal.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lennox and Addington County General Hospital Foundation. The family would like to thank the Lennox & Addington Community Paramedics Team and the physicians, ICU nurses, and staff at Lennox and Addington Hospital for their compassionate care.

Please share your memories and condolences to the family.
