Obituary of Mary Shane-Hough (Scouten)

Mary passed away peacefully at the AB Smith Homestead House with her loving family by her side on Sunday, March 1, 2026, in her 86^th year. Predeceased by her beloved husband Clayton Shane, her parents Archie and Edith Scouten, and infant sisters Edith Anne and Joan. Mary is survived and deeply missed by her loving husband Ronald Hough, her devoted daughter Karen Shane (John Murphy), her cherished grandchildren Wyatt Wood (Alexis Winfield) and Marin Marsala, and dear sister Carol Peters (Grant). Also fondly remembered by Ron’s children, Lloyd, Charlene and Juanita, and by several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Payne Funeral Home, 178 Main St., Odessa on  Friday, March 6^th from 3-6 pm. Funeral Service will be held at Emmanuel United Church, 63 Factory St., Odessa on Saturday, March 7^th at 11 am., with visitation one hour prior. Interment at Wilton Cemetery with a reception following at Emmanuel United Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Kingston Humane Society or the Loyalist Humane Society would be appreciated in her memory.
