Obituary of Lyle Young

In loving memory of Lyle Wesley Young who passed away peacefully at the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 , in his 93^rd year. Deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his dear wife of 71 years, Irene (nèe Whitmarsh), his loving children Brenda Huffman (Eric), Brian Young (Nancy) and Steven Young, and grandchildren Nicholas Huffman (Amanda) and Steffanie Young (Terence). Lyle is also fondly remembered and missed by his sisters and brothers, nieces and nephews.

 

A true handyman, Lyle was an auto body mechanic for over 40 years. When he was not cheering on the Maple Leafs and Blue Jays, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, gardening and puzzles. Spending time with his family was most important. He was certainly a dedicated husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank the John M. Parrott Centre for their support and the L&A Hospital for their loving care.

 

Cremation has taken place. A Graveside Service will be held for family at Wilton Cemetery on Friday, June 19, 2026 at 10:30 am. Arrangements entrusted to Payne Funeral Home, 178 Main St., Odessa.
