Obituary of Mary O'Donnell (Betts)

The passing of Mary Agnes (Betts) O’Donnell, wife of the late Robert Clark O’Donnell, of Kingston, Ontario, occurred on Friday, the 15th of May 2026, at the Rideaucrest Home in Kingston, Ontario. Mary was born in Doaktown, NB, on October 24th, 1924. She was the daughter of the late Justice and Etta (Weaver) Betts. The youngest child of 15, Mary, had been an active member of the Bay Park Baptist Church.

 

Mary is survived by two daughters, Teresa (Mario) Gaulin of Pembroke, ON, and Joyce (Jerry) Newson of Cavan, ON, and three sons, Sherman of Kingston, ON, Mervyn and Kenneth of BC. She also has twelve grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

 

Mary was predeceased by seven sisters, Annie Morehouse, Olive Lyons, Ethel Mersereau, Mabel Brown, Vida Mitchell, Vivian Ross, and Vera Brown, and seven brothers, David, Harold, Holland, Rolland, Sterling, Bert and Lloyd.

 

Visitation will take place at the Payne Funeral Home at 178 Main St., Odessa, ON, on Friday, the 22nd of May from 11-12 p.m. Funeral Service will follow at 12 p.m., with private family Interment to follow at the Cataraqui Cemetery in Kingston.
