Kirk Mac Dowall . My condolences to the family on Dave’s passing. I met him 9 years ago when I started inspecting the boiler at the cheese factory. In my book he was the salt of the earth and this world is a bit more worse off. At the end of March he called me to arrange the internal inspection for the boiler at the factory and he told me then that he was retiring and the reason why. He told me right then that he knew Jesus Christ as his saviour. Until we meet again my friend

Dave was one of those unique people that everyone could count on, no matter who you were or what you needed. If he could help you, he would. Like all of our siblings, we have amazing memories of our brother. Like the time he drove my friends and I to Studio 801 and did a 360 in the parking lot. We all laughed until we heard the siren and saw the lights of the police car pulling Dave over. But like everyone who knew him, when the officer came up to the driver's side door, he said in a very friendly voice, "Well hello Mr. Larkin. How are you today?"
Thank you for being a great brother Dave. You were there for me so many times when I just needed someone supportive to talk to and to offer a few words of advice. I looked up to you and admired the person you were.
You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. - Isaiah 26:3

I will miss my brother every day. Some of my favorite memories are the ones that still make me smile, like when he wanted us to cover for him after he punched a hole in the wall in the garage. And I'll never forget him taking me out to get my first car as a teenager. Moments like those remind me of who he was—
funny, imperfect, caring, and always a big part of my life. He said to me not long ago that he was "a heck of a nice guy," and he truly was. I miss him deeply and will cherish these memories forever. Love you, Dave.

Q: How would you describe Dave to someone who had never met them?
A: How would I describe Dave to someone who had never met him? So many people knew and loved Dave. He was always there to lend a hand and help. He was friendly, approachable to anyone, always had a smile on his face and I am positive did not have a single person who would say a bad word about him. He was a supportive, caring, devoted son, brother, father and husband. He is now with our Lord and Saviour and I am sure Dad was there to greet him.

My wife and I have known Dave for many years, through our activities in the Central Ontario Cheesemaker Association, and through my employment at Black Diamond and Diversey. Dave was always cheerful and optimistic, with a smile on his face. He will certainly be missed.

Dave treated our son (Brad) as if he were one of his own in their family from the start. We couldn't have picked a better father-in-law for our son, and a Dad for raising our beautiful daughter-in-law, Melissa. Dave was always willing to help with renovations, repairs, and advice. He was there on a minute's notice. His love for his family and grandchildren, Troy and Hailey, will never be forgotten, as his memory will live on. Our hearts break for Jason, Mauve, Melissa, Brad, Troy, Hailey, Sheryl, Emily, Jake, Katie, and his family as Dave's loss will be felt by many.

David Francis Larkin. You my friend will be dearly missed. With your contagious laugh and your enduring smile you always made everyone feel welcome . That book of knowledge you carried with you was so immense that anyone could reach out to you and not only would you have the answer, you would pitch into resolve the issue. I have known you for over 45 years and the memories we have created together have gotten me through some very tough times. You left a legacy Dave, of love devotion and kindness that your family carries with them everyday. I don't have the crystal ball as to when we will meet again, but when we do lets create a few more crazy memories .

Dave was a wonderful guy. All of our kids remember him so fondly. Giving them tracker rides, and tours of the cheese factory. Sending all our love to Dave's family and friends.
