Dear David and Family,
My heart goes out to you at this time of profound loss. Sandy loved each of you so very deeply - her eyes and voice lighting up whenever she spoke of each and every one of you.
From the time I first met Sandy, I felt her passion for making a difference in the lives of others, with a special connection to young children and their parents. Her desire to create spaces of equity and possibility for others reached well beyond them, too. I was privileged to have known Sandy as a work colleague first and then as a lasting friend. She touched my life in such meaningful ways – with her laughter, her resilience, and her desire to offer love and hope within her world. When our friendship expanded to include Joe and David, Joe too came to appreciate Sandy’s joy and friendship.
It still seems unreal that I can no longer chat with her over lunch, give her a hug, marvel at her gardens or at the mountain of fabric she wanted to turn into sewing projects, but her presence is still with me in the most profound ways... and that will never fade.
Holding you in our thoughts and hearts,
Susan and Joe Ramsay

Condolences to David and family on both sides.
It is hard for me to believe Sandy is gone, she was such a vibrant human being.
Sandy and I became good friends while working together and remained friends after our careers were over. Although, working with children is a job that never ends.
Sandy was kind, considerate, compassionate, sympathetic, loving, hard worker, funny and so much more. No matter how I was feeling her voice on the phone or her smile across the table lifted my spirits.
Sandy was my lunch buddy, we talked about everything. We shared stories about our children, our husbands, our grandbabies, our gardens, and work. Sandy was a great listener.
I will cherish the memories I had with Sandy.
I miss you my friend.
Your Friend forever, Joan.

My condolences to Dave and the family. I have so many fond memories from my childhood growing up in Violet. Gail S, Sandy and myself spending time together. Sleepovers, games, climbing out the second story window and sitting on the porch roof. How Sandy always initiated a game of 'school' when Sylvia's kids arrived. How much she loved being a teacher and being with children. She will be missed by so many people whose live she has touched. We lost touch for about 30 years and then had the joy of reconnecting in our later life. What a blessing it was to be part of her wedding to Dave, looking after her cats when she still lived in Napanee and was away for a few days, finding time in our schedules to visit and have lunches. I still have one of her high school pictures. And yes, her smile really did light up a room. So very sad. Donna Nobel
