Obituary of Alvin Embury

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Alvin Herbert Boyce Embury on June 7, 2026 at Kingston General Hospital, 18 days before his 87th birthday, surrounded by his loving family.

Al was the eldest of three children and was predeceased by his parents, Wilmot and Mabel Embury. He is survived by his children, Alanna Brooke Embury and Matthew Wade Embury and his fiancée, Natasha; his brother Paul Embury and his wife Judy; and his sister Phyllis and her husband Doug.

He will also be lovingly remembered by his nieces, Heather, Lori, Diane and Jackie; his nephew, Mark; as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Al had many passions in life, including his large garden, Biblical prophecy, family history, the Toronto Blue Jays and the Toronto Maple Leafs. He was generous in sharing the fruits of his labour from the garden and was often rewarded with treats made with the very things he grew, especially by his dear friends Tammy and Corinne.

He also had a deep love for family history and could speak at length about his ancestors, where they lived and where they came from.

Al will be greatly missed by his family and friends, but heaven has now welcomed him home.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Harrowsmith Free Methodist Church, 3876 Harrowsmith Road, Harrowsmith, Ontario K0H 1V0 on Thursday, June 11, at 11:00 a.m.

Visitation will take place at the church on Wednesday, June 10, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., as well as one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
