Obituary of Stephen Laverne Sagriff

It is with great sadness that the family of Stephen Laverne Sagriff announces his unexpected passing at his home on Friday, August 21, 2026, in his 68th year. Predeceased by his beloved parents Laverne and Wilma Sagriff. Missed by his loving and longtime companion Lora Caton. Proud father of Leanne, Ashley, Cody (Enrica) and Curtis (Shannon), and cherished grandfather of Hannah, Lucas and Cohen. Dear brother of Pam Sweet (John Salmon), Tom Sagriff (Bonnie Shannon) and Dan Sagriff, and fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews, extended family, his beloved black lab Wrangler, and his many cherished friends.

Steve was a dedicated and highly respected heavy equipment operator who took great pride in his work. He earned the respect and admiration of the many who he worked alongside over the years, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and integrity that won't be forgotten. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Visitation will be held at Payne Funeral Home in Odessa on Thursday, August 27, 2026 from 5-7 pm. A Graveside Service will be held at Verona Cemetery (6084 Cemetery Rd., Verona) on Friday, August 28, 2026 at 11 am.,
with a Celebration of Life to follow at the Odessa Fairgrounds Palace beginning at 1 pm. For those desiring, memorial donations to the St. Alban's Church in Odessa would be appreciated.
