Over all the years we knew Phyllis & Floyd from the Odessa F.M. Church and afterwards, they were a real love story, a perfect match, always welcoming to their home, and proud of their kids (and later, the grandkids & great grandchildren).
Phyllis’ laugh, and ready sense of humour will be missed by everyone who knew her.
She must surely be happily reviewing now all the good times of the past with friends & family who’ve gone on before, and “getting the new place ready” for those to follow.

Thinking of you and your family Floyd, as a new nurse starting my career... I certainly saw the love and compassion you had for Phyllis. Floyd and Family:
Phyllis was an amazing, gentle, warm and caring christian lady who was faithful to her family, to her Lord and to her Church. We will always remember her warm and gracious hospitality when we first came to Odessa back in 1999. She was one who would always give praise and thanks to her Lord even in the midst of challenging times. She would often remark that she didn't know how people made it through the difficulties of life without the Lord. After a visit we would often feel that she had ministered to us. Phyllis left this world well loved and leaves a legacy of love for all to follow. She will be dearly missed.

To: Floyd.....Daughter & Sons.....and All Families Members
There are no words that will ease the sorrow that your families are feeling. The one thing that can be said is Mrs.Calver is still a wonderful lady and highly thought of by the people that knew her. Phyllis and Floyd....was and is....always friendly and caring to talk to whether you met them at the school (back in the day) or at our Post office. I wish we all could stand up to their high standards about life. Odessa has lost another Great Lady. Thank God that you have Good Memories to get you all over this sad time.

Phyllis or “Granny” Calver was my summer and after-school caretaker for my younger years while my parents were still at work. She was a loving person, a foundation of my childhood days, and I’m living proof of the positive influence she had on those around her. My condolences to the family.
