Obituary of Robert William Derue

Passed away peacefully, in his sleep, at the Carveth Care Centre in Gananoque on Sunday, August 20, 2023. Robert William Derue of Odessa, in his 96th year. Predeceased by his first wife and mother of their children Winnifred (Pearson), and his second wife Sandra (Young). Caring and loving father of Irene Derue, Rebecca Sosna (Roman), Rob Derue (Micheline) and the late Patricia Derue. Proud Grandpa Bob and Bamp to Jaime, Jacob (Emily), Nathan (Ali), Austin (Brandee), Kurtis and Tanner. Also missed by his great grandchildren Noah, Kayla, Courtney, Faith and Hope, his great-great granddaughter Grace, and several nieces and nephews and their families. Predeceased by his brothers Earl and Jack Derue, and sisters Marjorie Stephens, Madeline Luckin and Mary Poulton.

 

Bob was “one in a million”, he loved his family,  the outdoors, and never refused a game of euchre! Special thank you to all his former, kind, and caring neighbours at Old York Road building in Odessa. Also thank you to the staff at Perth Hospital, and Carveth Care Centre for their compassionate care. 

 

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 1, 2023 from 1pm to 4pm., at the Royal Canadian Legion (Branch 623), 120 County Road 4, Bath, Ontario. For those desiring, memorial donations to the Royal Canadian Legion (Branch 623) in Bath would be appreciated by the family.
