Jane and Family, Please accept my deepest condolences on the passing of Delmer. I was saddened to learn of his passing.
Delmer was an extraordinary man, who worked tirelessly to represent his members and the community. I will particularly remember his willingness to advocate, with deep integrity, for others, until he had an acceptable resolution. This is the measure of a true leader. I am a better person for having known and worked with Delmer. May he rest in peace.

Steve and I were thankful to spend precious time with Delmer & Jane during their struggle with Delmer’s health issues the last couple years. We shared conversations that will haunt us but also comfort us, for years to come. Delmer continued to live life “his way” and brought the party to our place, during his many trips to Toronto for medical appointments. Delmer & Jane had the ability to make us forget the real purpose of the trip and just enjoy our time together. Delmer & I shared a special “brother/sister” bond that I will never forget! Love You a Bunch & Miss You Like Crazy Del!!

My dad has always been my rock. My supporter. My first love. The one I could go to for advice and he gave his opinion whether I wanted it or not. Him and mom are the best loving supportive and encouraging parents any kid could ever want to have. He has left us for now but one day we will see him again. Love you forever and always. Love you Dad

Bonnie, so sorry for your loss. My heart is with you. There's a song that says "It's only the good times I remember, whenever I think of you". You will get to that stage, but it takes time.

Dear Jane, Angela and Drew: Doug and I enjoyed many great visits and lots of Saturday evenings playing cards with you both. I know that Delmer and Doug enjoyed many hours having a drink and shooting the shit in Doug's work shop. Those were definitely the good old days. I will always be thankful that you and Delmer were my neighbours when Doug passed.I could never have cleaned out Doug's shop without Delmers help. Try to keep all the happy memories in your mind at this very sad time in your life Jane. My thoughts are with you all . Time will take the sharpness of the pain away. I will talk to you soon again Jane

My dad was and is my best friend and mentor. We all have many great memories that we will cherish forever. His legacy and presence will always be with us.Everything I have accomplished in my life he always was there and seem to point me in the right direction. I would not have been the man, husband and father that I am today with out him. I am sure that I will still be asking for advice dad so please keep offering your opinion as we all know you have one. Love and miss you, until we meet again.....

The loss of my brother leaves us with a deep sense of emptiness. Delmer loomed large as a strong personality, but, as already stated, a man with a huge heart. Many will remember him as a defender of those he considered to suffer injustice, especially in his role as a union president. I deeply cherish my memories of him, especially the last few months. Our conversations and the boat ride up and down the river in September will always remain a special memory for me. I will forever miss Delmer. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jane, Andrew and Angela as they as they suffer the burden of a very significant loss.

We are so sorry for your loss. Delmer knew how to enjoy life and he brought a lot of laughs for all at the cottage. I don't think he ever forgot for a moment the importance of his family, and he was lucky to have the love of his family with him during his illness. Our heartfelt condolences.
