So sorry, Denise and family, that we missed Martin's celebration of life. He is the only mechanic we've ever known who phoned to chat and not just about cars. A perfect story teller with a great sense of humour, he was a friend to us as much as being one of the world's most honest mechanics. He loved to talk about his children and grandchildren, and of course, off-roading with you, Denise, in his new atv. Thanks for sharing him with us and the community. He will be missed.

I remember your wedding day at our Farm in Harrowsmith. You and Marty were so in love and we all danced the night away in Grandpa's garage. Then my Dad helped you's build your garage where Marty would spend his days working away. Our family has always been there for each other if we could be. I am always here for you Aunt Denise. Be strong Tony and Smitty! Nothing sucks more than burying a Dad! Love from my home to yours: Sasha, Joe, Jayden, Isaak and Jude.

We always enjoyed Marty’s playing of the Organ at St. Albans. He made it lively and singable and put his heart into it usually singing along as he played.
Marty liked to engage us in conversation about current events or faith. He wasn’t shy about expressing an opinion. As a skilled and reliable mechanic Marty was always willing to listen to our car problems and offer assistance. He was a man of deep and sincere faith.
We will miss him.

Will always remember joking around with Marty while watching some kind of sports on the leather couch and complaining about the calls the refs/umps were making! Hope there’s lots of games where you are now that the suffering is over. Condolences to my friend Tony, his mom Denise and his brother Dave and family. Love to you all at this time

He wasn’t just my father-in-law, he was my friend. He was a great friend who listened, who shared, who laughed, and who showed his soul to me. I may not get a chance to physically talk to him again, but I will talk to him every day and let him know that I truly loved him, and i’ll be asking for advice all the time. I will miss you for the rest of my life, and I look forward to seeing you again.
I love you forever dad.
Steven.

We are so sorry for your loss. Working with Marty, and stopping in to visit at his home garage, after he left our shared workplace, was always a good time. We offer our prayers for peace and good memories to Denise and family.
