Ellis was a true gentleman and a great musician. A lot of wonderful music has been lost because of his passing. It was a joy to play music with him and listen to that guitar ring as he took the lead. His passing has left a hole in my heart.

I would like to offer my most heartfelt condolences to Mary Lou and the entire Wolfreys family.
In all my years, I have never met a friendlier and more honest person. It was an absolute pleasure to laugh with Ellis, to play music in the band with Ellis, and I did so for about 10 years….. years playing and enjoying music with my second family. Music is part of me, and surely was part of Ellis. The music gigs, The radio station, all the breakfasts at the Legion…… All wonderful memories that I will cherish forever.
I hope you can find comfort in all the beautiful memories you shared together. Rest in peace, Brother. You will be sadly missed.

Ellis was my friend and bandmate (Melody Makers). He was one of the kindest people I have ever known and I will miss him terribly. My deepest sympathies to Mary-Lou, his children, his grandchildren, siblings and friends. The world lost a wonderful human being, but heaven has surely gained an angel.
Rest in eternal peace my friend - you will never be forgotten.
