Barb was a dedicated volunteer for anything to help her community, she told me to always add her name to the top of any list when I was looking for help as parent council president at AVPS for many years. She was always there when needed and such a devoted crossing guard that would smile and always said Good Morning to everyone....except the parent that would learn where NOT to park in front of the school in her area and I always appreciated that she was looking out for my 3 boys to and from school when they would poke through the park. I just bet she said a million times over the years to so many children. "Come on now, hurry up get across the bells going to ring it's time for school" We all loved and respected her dearly ❤️ R.I.P. Barb you touched the lives of many families and you will be dearly missed ❤️

condolence to the family. We got to meet Barbara over 20 years ago when she was a crossing guard and then through the Lions Club and then through the dinners at Trinity Church. We started a ritual of our Sunday morning phone calls during Covid and we just continued on as she was longer able to leave her house. We will miss our calls. Rest in peace Barb. My sympathy to Barb's family. I haven't seen Barb since I walked my grand daughter to and from AVPS quite a few years ago. She was a crossing guard who took her job seriously and knew every child and most of their parents too. Nor did she ever hesitate to tell drivers about no parking in front of the school. She was very proud of her family and one day, when it wasn't busy, told me about her grandchildren too. Sincerely, Sandra Hollywood
