I remember us all sliding down those winding stairs during holidays and you always telling us to stop. And that one time Sarah and Amber dressed me up in a Tutu and I came over, you were pretty flabbergasted but had a laugh at the same time.

I tried to capture the special moments here . He build a home away from with a school bus he bought .Turned it into a top notch camper . Sherry and I travelled to East and West coast in that home on wheels . Museums . Galore . Mom would laugh often as he couldn’t navigate out of parking lots . Birds pooping on his bald spot . We went to Lake Ontario park for years over Labor Day. His and Moms favourite spot was Milhaven rest stop along the water . I never saw them swim ever over my life time. Regardless of how much we camped. And finally I felt special the day he walked me down the aisle to my future husband . That was the closest and most special day I ever had with Dad .

A life he built within the walls of the house that Don built on Highway 38 in Harrowsmith ,Ontario . It is true when people say a picture is worth a thousand words. When they are lost so do the memories fade over time . We lost many of those pictures in our basement from water overflow as back in the day we had cisterns. My Grandmother had made videos on old reels of travels. What a treasure as mom had them transferred to CD. We will have those to treasure forever . Donald lost his Dad at a very early age . From leukaemia . He had no siblings and I can only feel sad that his tolerance around the dinner with his own children be a bit overwhelming ! I understand why. For those close to him I hope they can be shared in his book . A man of mystery ti me !!
