Cathy had a zest for life. Her smile, laughter and energy was contagious and she made people around her smile. I worked with Cathy at Bayridge SS and have very fond memories of Cathy and her boundless energy. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace but I am sure she is doing a dance or painting her nails. Forever in my heart my friend.

Q: What will you never forget about Cathy?
A: I had such a FUN AND ADVENTUROUS childhood because of my wonderful relationship with my VERY DEAR AND BEST FRIEND CATHY!!
In the summer months Cathy and I would travel the back roads of Harrowsmith and Hartington on our bikes and pedal all day for miles and miles while challenging many of the back road hills riding down fast with no hands on our bikes to feel the wind in our hair. We stopped at random gardens for a bite to eat for lunch and climbed trees and ate apples in season packed with a salt shaker in our pocket and had so much fun, got filthy dirty and then sometimes swam in a local quarry off Petworth Rd and caught tadpoles and frogs or hopefully if Cathy's wonderful Mom Velma would load up the Vauxhall car and so we could cool off and go for a swim after supper at "The Point" in Sydenham and I always hoped there was room in the car for an extra person to pile in.
We loved to run through the corn fields, walk the fence posts and loved summer in our bare feet!!
On Sat nights we ate a heaping plate of french fries if we helped peel a shit ton of potatoes and ate them at the Davison supper table that was built by her Dad "John" who was such a talented carpenter and this table was hugh enough for a family of 12 children and who ever else was around it at any given meal.
We loved to make blanket forts while enjoying board games with our neighborhood friends and slept in them at night, we walked along Highway #38 in the ditch to Hartington for candy, chips and pop at the corner store.
My goodness I have sooo many many more fond memories and adventures with my great friend!!
In the winter we would make snow forts along the snowbanks by the side roads, make hugh snowman, skate on the ponds as far as the ice would take up starting at Jamison Rd until our feet were frozen., wrap our feet in towels to thaw out and do it over again the next day.
These are only some of the memories of my dear friend that I will cherish the most and because of Cathy my childhood was simply the BEST!!
I wish I had photos of these wonderful days shared but in reality these are days I will NEVER EVER FORGET in my heart
R.I.P my Dear Friend I will miss you forever and ever XOXO

Our hearts are heavy since learning of Cathy's passing. She was a wonderful lady so full of energy and fun, and the world is a sadder place with her gone. I will forever see her walking past our home, with her dog, laughing and waving at other neighbours and friends. She always had a picture to show of her two beautiful granddaughters. May they know how loved they were. You will be missed. Rest in peace.

So sad to hear of Cathy's passing. She was a constant throughout school years at Harrowsmith Public & Sydenham High, always energetic & outspoken. Our paths crossed infrequently in recent years, at family events or in the community, and it was clear that she still had that 'eveready energy' and loved to have a laugh, even at her own expense. Our condolences to the Davison & Sproule families.

Q: What was one of your favorite qualities of Cathy?
A: Cathy had a gift to see things in an unconditional way, no judgement, listened to what you had to say & in her own way lift you up. We had many times/conversations/laughs over the years & I’ll cherish it all forever! I did get a chance to say this to her before she closed her eyes. It’s not goodbye, it’s til I see you again! We send our heart felt condolences to the Davison and Sproule families. Our friendship was through the high school years and broomball in Tamworth. Cathy was athletic, a fierce competitor and sure liked to win. The broomball days were long before marriages and children. Peace be with you Cathy. Shelley and Steve Simpson.

You will always hold a special place in my heart. Cathy was my daughter’s camp mom. Courtney would get off the school bus every week in April on Fridays and ask if we were going to the camp.
She could not wait to see Cathy tell her about her school year and show her the new dance routine she had learned. Courtney loved the endless hours of floating in the lake, playing cards and campfires with Cathy. She opened her heart to all the kids in the camp, whether they were from the campground or the rental cottage.
RIP my friend, till we meet again.
