I first met Randy 1978 working uniform in 19 Division. In hind sight, he tolerated a lot of my on the job non-sense. He had sage advice about perception and emparted that in a way that got my respect and today I appreciate him for that. He set a good example, consistent, dependable and valued. Next he was a rock star - the "shades of blue". Which will be part of his legacy to YRP. Later we found ourselves in MCU, chasing and catching the worst in society. He retired long before me. Blink and I am reading he passed away. Kielo and family, know that I will remember you guys fondly when I think of Randy I remember your hospitality hosting shift gatherings. My sincere condolences.

To Keilo and family.
This man will always hold a place in my heart. He was my friend and I was mine. I had the upmost pleasure spending time with him during his stay at my workplace. Always awake waiting for me at 7am for his Tims and that smile when he would say I will have one of those. lol and I would tell him yes one is for you. How I gained his trust and earned his respect. His gentle hugs … memories .. cherish them and hold them tight. My condolences to you and your family during this difficult time.

We were never actually partners, but Randy and I worked quite closely together several times, especially during the Major Crimes days. It was always enjoyable, working with Randy. Who knew that kind of job could be fun?
From me and Deborah, our deepest condolences to Kielo and all the family.

I had the privilege of working with Randy back in the early eighties - he was always a gentleman - both on and off the job. We shared time together with our families on our farm in Uxbridge and Kate and I have fond memories of the barn dance we had when the kids were very young. Randy was famous for his version of Eric Clapton’s Wonderful Tonight and it was a much requested song from our group when we were entertained by ‘The Shades of Blue’. Our heartfelt condolences to Kielo, Matthew and Bethany…you are in our thoughts.

I worked with Randy while in Uniform at YRP and was always envious of that great smile of his; he brought light to every room that he entered. It was a pleasure and honour to know such a wonderful guy. It saddens me to hear that his journey has ended.
