Obituary of Pamela Reed

Please share a memory of Pamela to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Pamela Joanne Reed (née Young)

May 14, 1947 – January 10, 2025

Our deeply-cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt has sadly lost her hard-fought, lengthy battle with cancer at her home in Bath, Ontario.

Born in Perth, Ontario to parents Margaret and Odey Young (both deceased), Pam is survived by her daughter, Christine (Jeff) Clemons; grandchildren, Andrew (Anna) Dodd and Melissa (Kyle) Lothian; great-grandchildren, Kayden, Cooper, Kenzie, River and Axel, all of Kingston, Ontario and by her sisters, Jennifer (Bob deceased) Demerath of Carleton Place and Deborah (John) Dickson of Kemptville as well as a niece and two nephews and their families.

Pam grew up in Perth and retired as the Registrar at Algonquin College (Perth Campus) after 34 years.  She also worked briefly in the Office of the Crown Attorney prior to moving to Bath, Ontario to be closer to her family.

She spent many years volunteering in the kitchen at the Perth Civitan Club as well as on the Altar Guild at St. James Anglican Church. After moving to Bath, once again, she was very active in the St. John’s Anglican Church both during services as well as cooking and baking for their many functions.

Pam simply could not sit idle and started a one-woman cleaning service in her subdivision and always had a waiting list. She took great pride in a job well done and the local saying became, “It isn’t clean until it’s “Pam” clean!”

In spite of her many interests, she always had time for her family. She very much appreciated her many friends and neighbours including her very special friend, Fred Staples and felt truly blessed. Pam lived her belief in service to family, church and community and will be sadly missed by all.

A Funeral Service will be held at the St. John’s Anglican Church (212 Church St., Bath) on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 11 am., with interment following at the adjoining cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. John’s Anglican Church or the Kingston Humane Society in honour of Pam's beloved cat Molly would be very much appreciated.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Payne Funeral Home, 178 Main St., Odessa. Please share your memories and condolences to the family.
