Saddened to read this news about Dave. I served with Dave in HMCS Coverdale and HMCS Inuvik. I have a nice photo taken by Dave's wife in Moncton after a midnite shift. It shows Dave and I and the late Jim Marshall sitting on his chesterfield having an early morning beer.
My sincere condolences to Dave's family and RIP old buddy....

David was the oldest of the 20 cousins from the eight daughters and one son of John and Charlotte Lentz. What impressed us all was his maturity. He married young, had a big family and relished the responsibility of providing for them materially and emotionally. He had a close bond with his mother, Margaret, and was exceedingly kind to his aunt Eileen who continued to live in the family home after Margaret's death. He had a great sense of humour. Condolences to his immediate family and warm memories for all who knew him. To know David was to like him. Cousin Michael

To Dan, Lori, Mary, Paula, Brian, Family Members & Friends,
All members of the Canadian Forces Supplementary Radio (SUPRAD) System Oldtimers' Association were saddened by the news of Dave's passing. Dave was a dedicated and loyal member of the Canadian Forces and he made a large number of good friends during his military service as a Communicator Research (MOC 291) specialist, When Dave and I were serving in Gander, Newfoundland, at 770 Communication Research Squadron, I had the privilege of being selected, along with Sergeant Dave Cornish, to spend approximately five months at the 1976 Olympics in Montreal, where we both worked as Support Staff in the Olympic Village Registration Centre. Please know that as members of your extended military family, we will keep you in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Later on, both Bonnie and I were at the Canadian Forces Joint Operations Group and the 1st Canadian Division where Dave worked as a Commissionaire. We enjoyed working with Dave. He will be missed.
