Winnie was a special, uplifting friend. She gave me an encouragement card that sits on my desk to this day. She was a blessing in all sorts of ways. Mary and I were sorry to learn of her passing and will be praying for all of her family she loved so much.

Winnie was a sweet lady. Over 20 years ago, when she was living at Seniors' apartments across the street, she would babysit for my three daughters while I went over and did Personal care there. When I told my daughters that Winnie was coming to babysit they would cheer
'Yay Winnie!' She would bring over a few slightly burnt butter tarts too, (as she was a perfectionist in her baking and didn't want to offer them up to whom ever she promised.)Those butter tarts were still scrumptious!
I remember Winnie giving my daughters Easter cards or book marks, which was very kind of her. I also remember her cheery smile and laugh. At times she might be blue, but then you would hear that her son Ken had invited her up to Ottawa, and she was so excited to be going on a bus trip there. She also was excited when her son offered to build a home for her and him here too. Glad she had such a loving family, as seen today at her funeral. Glad that she worked with her twin sister to help with the soup kitchen the Anglican Church had.

From the few
times I got to know her I found her to be a very caring and loving individual, she also reminded me of my grandma Jerry. as for how I met her it was through her twin sister Wilma and her nephew Dan which is Wilma's son........

As I reflect on my memories of my Aunt Winnie, I am over whelmed with
emotion. One thing for certain is that Aunt Winnie touched the lives of
many, she was caring, loving, giving,,,I could go on and on... Those
of us who had the opportunity to be babysat by Aunt Win truly know
that she also baked from the heart, especially her butter tarts or
peanut butter cookies. God truly has a new Angel in heaven.
Rest In Paradise Aunt Win.
Love Trevor
