The Hogeboom and O'Neil families go way back as we grew up together in the Odessa FMC. What wonderful memories I have of Vera's gentle and patient spirit. When I became a missionary she assured me of her prayers and as we would meet from time to time she continued to express her interest in the latest news from the field. It was a blessing to have known her. May her family and friends be comforted by God's perfect peace and love.

I didn't have the privilege of personally knowing Vera, but reading the tributes gives me a sense of who she was. Elaine, in the areas of gentleness, godliness and caring for others, you are your mother's daughter. Her qualities are reflected in you. Continue to wear her mantle well and carry on the legacy your Mom has handed down. Blessings to you and your family.

Vera was a sweet and lovely cousin. Reg and my mom (Stella) were lst cousins.
I remember when they came to visit our family in Windsor one summer and I was just a kid and Fred was a sweet little baby about 9 months old and we were all outside having a visit and I asked Vera if I could take Fred for a walk in my dollbuggy on the sidewalk in front of our house and mom said-Oh no Janis he's just a little baby-not a doll and Vera
said-Janis that would be so kind of you so Vera put his baby blanket in the buggy and placed Fred in there and away
I went-up and down the sidewalk just singing away to him all the while he was smiling. It is a memory I will never forget.
Vera and I have always kept in touch and when I come every year we would always get together for a visit.
She had beautiful handwriting and every Christmas and Easter she would send a card with a little note tucked inside.
Our deepest sympathy to each of her family members.
for a visit.

Vera was a good friend of my mom's so I often received the benefits. She was a wonderful prayer warrior to have the battlefront for you. And that, she was many times in Haiti. illness, everyday struggles of life, She was a great encourager with cards and sometimes even a phone call. I remember working with Vera at the post office one summer on Sat. morning. I had just come off working the night shift at the Bon Voyage restaurant and I was so tired I fell asleep standing up sorting mail. Vera gently led me over to the sorting table and suggested I lay down and rest a bit. Then the time we travelled through a snowstorm to the airport to catch our flight to Florida camp meeting. What a wonderful time we had there. So many wonderful memories of her special expressions of love to mom and us. We will truly miss her quiet(sometimes)spirit. See ya soon at Jesus feet.
