Obituary of Geoffrey Clarke Westgate

Father of Kevin Westgate (Jennifer), son of Mavis Westgate (nee Clarke) and predeceased by his son Alex, father and mentor Mailin, and dear Grandparents Maple and Verna. Geoff will be missed by his grandchildren: Victoria, Carter and Wyatt. Geoff had a very special bond with his Grandson Carter, they were like two peas in a pod and enjoyed 13 short years of farming, hunting, 4-wheeling, and enjoying life on the land together!

Geoff will be dearly missed by his sisters Pamela, Valerie and Daphne. Rest in Peace brother! Geoff will also be missed by his aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Geoff loved children – both his families’ children and his friends’ children, they always brought a smile to his face, even in his final struggles.

Geoff will be missed in a very profound and moving way by his many, many, long-standing and very close friends who stood by him to the bitter end with good humour and grace. His legacy of working and farming within the Odessa community will live on. Most of all Geoff will never be forgotten for his hard work ethic, good sense of humour and wit along with his willingness to lend a helping-hand, provide wisdom, and sound advice to everyone who needed it and asked for it – both friends and family.

A Celebration of Life for Geoff, for all family and friends to remember and reminisce will be held at Wilton Hall, 251 Simmons Road, Odessa, Ontario on Sunday, June 17th, 2018 from 12 to 4pm. Memorial donations to the Cancer Society would appreciated by the family in his memory.
