Obituary of Gerhardus (Gerald) Mulder
Peacefully, in his sleep at home, early on the morning of Tuesday, October 9, 2018, at the age of 95. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Helen, in 2015. Cherished father of Margaret Gibbons (John How), Gerry Mulder (Ellen), Erik Mulder (Annlee). Dear Grandfather of Ryan (Rebecca) Gibbons, Natalie Gibbons, Jeff (Melanie) Mulder, Steve (Tina) Mulder, Johanna (John) Morrison, Daniel (Jeanne) Mulder, Andrew (Julie) Mulder and Jonathan Mulder. Proud Great Grandfather of Carter and Callum Gibbons, Lucien and Sebastiaan Mulder, Anna and Charlotte Mulder, James Morrison and Abigail and Isaac Mulder.
Gerald was born in Bellingwolde, The Netherlands, on June 7, 1923. He and Helen immigrated to Canada in 1960, where he went on to enjoy a very successful career in business.
His family is left with many cherished memories, such as his love for classical music, CBC radio programs, spirited discussions, lifelong learning, computer technology, country drives, world affairs, love of photography, publishing special stories, great coffee and always being a salesman. His pride in his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren was evident in his keen interest in all their activities.
At Gerald’s request, there will be no service at this time. If you wish to honour his memory, the family asks that you consider a donation to the charity of your choice, or to go for a walk at Lemoine Point where he enjoyed walking with Helen for many years. A special thanks to Gerald’s caregivers for their support and compassion during his final weeks.
Arrangements entrusted to the Paul G. Payne Funeral Home, 178 Main St., Odessa, Ontario K0H 2H0. Please share your memories and condolences to the family at www.paynefuneralhome.com
