Ruth Weaver was a beautiful woman inside and out. Her love for God, her family, her extended church family and community always shone like a beacon of hope. She worked quietly and tirelessly, offering trips to summer camp for children that couldn’t afford it, a helping hand to those in need, a kind word on a difficult day and most of all healing grace to anyone who felt too broken to enter into communion with God. Ruth truly lived James 1:27 “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress...”. She never looked for thanks, often working in the background providing for those who couldn’t provide for themselves, teaching us all, through her example, what Jesus would do. I’m grateful for the care and love that she showed my family during difficult years and that she entrusted me with her friendship when I became an adult. I think of Ruth often and will always remember her as an example of who I would like to be, in Christ, in service and in life. Thank you to the beautiful Weaver family for sharing your Mom/Fanny with us. We are all better for having known her.
