Passed away peacefully at the Lennox & Addington County General Hospital in Napanee on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, at age 88. Dear and loving mother of Audrey, Grant and Eric, who were with her at the time of her passing. Predeceased by her brother Henry Strackholder, her former husband Erich Fraggalosch, and her step-son Ralph Fraggalosch. Fondly remembered by her sister-in-law Esther Strackholder, nieces Heidi and Jeannie, nephews Richard, Paul and Melvin, grandchildren Katie and Emily and by dear friends Cliff and Susan Farber.

Cremation has taken place, and Helene’s ashes will be interred at Moscow Cemetery in the spring.

Born in Hamburg, Germany in 1930, Helene studied nursing at the University Hospital, Eppendorf before immigrating to Canada in 1951 where she continued working as a nurse in Montreal. Not long after, she joined Trans-Canada Airlines (now Air Canada) as a flight attendant, travelling the globe and enjoying many adventures during the early days of commercial air travel.

A proud Canadian, Helene was an avid reader, bird watcher, nature lover, CBC listener and arts and culture admirer.

The family would like to express their eternal thanks to the staff at the Lennox & Addington County General Hospital for the loving and compassionate care Helene received. In recognition of this incredible staff, memorial donations to the L&A Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
