Obituary of Rosemary Gallagher (nee Taylor)

Please share a memory of Rosemary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Rosemary Eileen Gallagher (nee Taylor), age 78, passed away unexpectedly yet peacefully at home on Saturday, July 6, 2019, with her loving husband nearby. Beloved wife of LeRoy Gallagher for 61 years, plus one week. Much loved mother of Michelle Podhy (Tom Wightman), Cindy Gallagher and James Gallagher (Theresa Maguire). Cherished and adored Gram of Megan Podhy (Kealey), William Podhy and Taylor Gallagher-Brewer and cherished “GG” to Fisher and Sawyer. Rosemary is predeceased by her parents George and Gloria (Betty) Taylor, her brothers Arthur (Barb) and George and sister Bonnie White (Joe). She is survived by her sister Pat Warren (Art) and by her brother-in-law David Gallagher. She was much loved by her many nieces and nephews who knew that they could always count on Aunt Rosemary. Rosemary had a heart of gold and was always putting others before herself. As a long time employee of Canada Post in the village of Bath, the community can attest to this. She was a woman of great courage and strength that many of us could only hope to emulate. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at the Paul G. Payne Funeral Home, 178 Main St., Odessa (613-386-7373) on Wednesday, July 10th from 6-8 p.m. A private family interment will be held at Bath United Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Bath United Church, P.O. Box 33, Bath, Ontario K0H 1G0. Please share your memories and condolences to the family at www.paynefuneralhome.com
