Obituary of Ric Campbell
In loving memory of Richard (Ric) Campbell (July 31, 1955-August 14, 2019)
Ric was born in Sudbury to Irene Proulx Campbell and the late Clint Campbell and he grew up with a big family; Dennis Campbell, Judy Austin (Dave), Sherry Campbell, Joanne Lee (Jim), John Campbell, the late Bob Campbell, Todd Campbell (Marlene) and Gary Campbell (Christina Miller). He grew up in Port Hope and ran convenience stores. He was married to Linda Campbell and raised his daughter, Arleigh Campbell (Deryk Coull) and his son Adam Campbell. He started working at Value Village and soon met his husband to be, Keltie Jones. Together they bought the Old Odessa Continuation School and transformed it into a lovely home. He was so proud of his three grandchildren Lauren, Maria and Hannah. He loved being with family and friends, gardening, painting, finding interesting objects in antique stores and travelling. He will be missed by his husband’s family; Nancy Jones (Rosemary Thoms,) Jennifer Jones, Peter Jones (Bev Jones) and his father-in-law Laurence (Laurie) Jones; his many Proulx, Campbell and Jones relatives; his colleagues at Value Village; fellow artists with the Greater Napanee Area Arts Association and local community members.
On Saturday, August 17th a viewing will be held at the Paul G. Payne Funeral Home, located at 178 Main St., Odessa (Exit 599 on the 401) from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A reception and sharing time will follow at his residence at 11 Cross St., Odessa (behind St. Alban’s Anglican Church). With Ric’s love of colour in art and nature, colourful summer clothes would be appreciated.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to The Heart and Stroke Foundation, The Lung Association, Colon Cancer Canada or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
