Obituary of Louise Dickerson-Marshall
Peacefully, at the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital in Napanee on Monday, September 30, 2019, in her 81st year. Beloved wife of the late H.P. Dickerson (1969) of Brantford and the late C.C. Marshall (2014) of Toronto. Predeceased by her parents Donald and Edna Marno and by her brothers Lyle, Carl and Robert. Dear sister of Donna Simon of Brantford and proud Auntie of William, Kathy (Dave) and family, and Rose (Mike) and family, all of Brantford. Special stepmother of Cathy and Mark Miller of Tecumseh, adopted stepmother of Candy Chittendon and Heather Wilson (daughters of the late Jack Arnold) and special Nanny Moise to the Chittendon boys. Fondly remembered by her many dear friends, the community of Tamworth and by her Camden Road neighbours in Napanee. Her matter-of-fact, no nonsense and edgy attitude made her one of a kind. Louise became a writer and a well published poetess. She leaves us with the words of her poem “Don’t Cry For Me”.
Death is not pretty when it comes to call, at some point it will come to claim us all. Don’t cry for me now that I’m free, I have set out to cross the sea. I did not die, I’m just on high. I didn’t have much time to say goodbye. Gone to a place in wondrous space, say a prayer for me and plead my case. Don’t cry for me now that I’m free, I was all that I could be.
A Graveside Service will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery, 169 Charing Cross St., Brantford on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 2 pm. A Memorial Mass will be held at Church of the Assumption, 6046 County Road 41, Erinsville on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at 6:30 pm. In memory of Louise, help a senior.
