Obituary of Ed Progar
Edward Henry Progar died peacefully in his sleep.
Like still waters, his words were quiet and deep.
When you spoke, he was not thinking of what to say
but listening in his thoughtful way.
He was not known for his impeccable attire
or for keeping his home like a cleaning ad flyer.
But for buying a van, so he and his dogs
could explore country hills, creeks and bogs.
He saw through the schizophrenic outside
to the sensitive philosopher inside.
Through the emperor in his finest clothes
to the naked coward below.
Can’t think of a way to end,
or a word that rhymes with Progar,
my soulmate and eternal friend.
