Remembering the many happy, fun filled times spent with John and his family. Sitting at his kitchen table talking and joking for hours. It is with great sadness that I am sending this message. I’m very sorry that I was unable to attend John’s funeral. Sending best wishes for the days ahead to Laurie, Brad, Matt and Marg.

My condolences to the family.
I had the pleasure of having Mr. How two years in elementary school. He was one of the best teachers I had and I have so many great memories because of him. He also selected me for a special choir so I got to work with him on that as well.
He has impacted so many people, he was a very special soul.

So saddened to hear this news. I have memories of John as a student, colleague and union member. John’s love and exuberance for music and people was always evident in his words and actions - and what a sense of humour! Condolences to Marg and family - Michelle and I have you in our thoughts.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. How. He was the best music teacher at Amherstview Public School. He had such charisma, energy and had a passion to teach us kids music and to have fun with it. I always think of the choir trips we would take to local nursing homes and other schools and halls to perform. He loved it so much. Sending my deepest condolences to his family and friends.

Many happy memories of stage band, led by Mr. How. He was always energetic - a true feat considering how much it must have taken to get our rowdy bunch in line, let alone sound good. Somehow he even got us to understand syncopation!
Mr. How led our first full-scale musical production - Oliver at AVPS - making sure we all knew our parts and felt included. The final product was super-fun, and truly convincing.
I'm now a composer and private music teacher, and owe those first positive beginnings and inspiration to Mr. How. Thanks for your commitment to kids, to music, and all the great memories!

My sincere condolences to the family of John How. He was my music teacher in the 90’s. It is because of him that I started to sing, and believe in myself. My entire career path grew out of my experience with Mr. How as I now run my own musical theatre company. I am forever indebted to Mr. How. He was truly the best. I will never forget all the laughs we had.

I will always remember my days with Mr.How with great fondness. He had such a passion for music, teaching, and eating sardines and crackers for lunch in the classroom.
With his high attention to detail, care, and discipline, we had amazing opportunities as students. It wasn’t until I was a parent myself that I realized how unique these opportunities were.
To his family, I am so very sorry for your loss. You are in my thoughts during this tough time. I hope that you can take some level of solace in knowing the impact that he had on so many during his time here.

So very sorry to hear of Mr. How’s passing.
He was a wonderful teacher, choir leader and person and I have many wonderful memories of him from my time at AVPS in the 1990’s. From square dancing lessons to early morning Mini Choir practices, How Dollars to the jellybean machine!
May your memories also be a comfort to you at this painful time.

So sorry to hear of this news!
Mr How was a great music teacher and left many of us students with wonderful memories!
I will never forget the band exchange with British Columbia and I am proud to say, my billet Cynthia and I are still friends who keep in touch today!
The days that Mr How wasn't able to teach, we would get a supply teacher and that was our day to pretend we played a different instrument...total kaos...but so much fun! Thank you Mr How for all the wonderful memories!
My thoughts are with all the family! May you rest in peace! Hugz Brad, Laurie, Matt and Ryan
