Obituary of Rita Mary Evans (Hunt)
Peacefully at her home on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at the age of 87, surrounded by the love of her family, near and far. Beloved wife of the late Ed, who has been waiting to reunite with his love of 58 years. Loving mother of Kevin, Rosemarie, Michael (Darlene), Marianne (Eric), Mark (Kelly), Dennis (Julie) and Lucia. Sadly missed by her grandchildren Sabrina (Gary), Blake (Whitney), Brianna (Corey), Kathryn, Sonja (Bruce), Nick (Lauren), Brock (Maria), Brett, Mitchell, Alesha, Stefani and by her 10 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Benedict (Sheila), Noreen Kehoe (late Fred), Anne Brown (Eric), George (Sharon), Helen Urie (late Bill), Danny (Lynn), Teresa Griffin (Tony). Sister-in-law to Shirley (late Gerard), Teddyanne Hunt-Nolan (late Tony), Beverly (late Francis) and Margaret Evans (late James). Predeceased by the late Marie Hoover (Dave), Eileen McKenny (Vince), Karen and Kevin. Lovingly remembered by the Evans family. She cherished her time with nieces, nephews, CWL sisters, cousins and friends.
Rita’s devoted faith and contributions to St. Anthony’s and her community has touched many. She was a hardworking, energetic, caring mother and teacher. She enjoyed activities with the CWL, community dances, quilting, baking, euchre, bowling and Toronto Blue Jays. We would like to give our sincere thanks to all of Rita’s PSWs. A special thank you to Christine, Kim, Jennifer P, Jennifer M, Laura and Johnathan for your compassion and care.
Due to COVID-19, a private Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Centreville with Interment following at St. Anthony’s Cemetery. The family would like to welcome everyone to Celebrate the Life of Rita at her home in Moscow on Friday, September 18, 2020 from 2-4 p.m., weather permitting. We kindly ask that you bring your own chair. We look forward to sharing memories, but more importantly, love and laughter.
