Obituary of Anne Crawford (Hamilton)
Passed away peacefully at home with her family around her.
Born Elizabeth Anne Hamilton in Toronto, she was raised in Montreal, graduated from MacDonald College, taught kindergarten for two years in Montreal, married Robert Crawford in 1969, taught Grade 2 in Ithaca, NY, and moved to Kingston in late 1971 where she was a homemaker, mother, standardized patient for the Queen’s Faculty of Medicine, Queen’s exam hall proctor, ICU Volunteer at KGH, Bible study leader, and so much more.
Anne is predeceased by her parents Allen and Annettie. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 51 years, Bob, her daughter Andrea Bax (Tim) and their sons Riley, Ethan and Jackson, and by her son Jonathan (Candace) and their son Ayden. Her four grandsons brought her so much joy. Nothing pleased her more than spending time with them. She adored them, and they couldn’t get enough of Grannie. Also survived by her brother Bob (Cathy), her sister-in-law Janice, her Aunt Helen, and by numerous nephews and nieces and cousins.
Anne had a beautifully caring and generous heart. She loved Jesus and spent time daily praying for so many people. She was committed to studying the Bible and loved sharing her heart for God with younger women.
In January 2011 she was diagnosed with follicular lymphoma, and since that time had chemotherapies, participated in a clinical trial, received two stem cell transplants and several rounds of radiation. She was so thankful for the excellent care she received from her amazing health care providers who are too many to name. Throughout this time she remained active and vibrant, a continuation of the very full and victorious life she lived on this earth. Anne is now experiencing unspeakable joy, and a fullness of life like she’s never known in the presence of her Saviour.
Anne was an incredibly special woman, who will be so very deeply missed by her family and friends.
Donations in her memory may be made to Mission Aviation Fellowship (where son-in-law Tim serves) or to University Hospitals Kingston Foundation ‘UHKF’ (specifying The Cancer Centre of Southeastern Ontario).
Given the regulations in place due to the pandemic, no public service is being held. Arrangements entrusted to the Paul G. Payne Funeral Home, 178 Main St., Odessa, Ontario K0H 2H0.
