Obituary of Earle Willard

Captain Earle Willard passed away peacefully at Providence Care Hospital on Saturday, January 23, 2021, in his 81st year, after a brave and determined battle with cancer. He leaves behind his loving wife of 60 years, Donna (nee Strain), and his three children Chris (Michelle), Laurie (Gord Gee), and Steven (Diana). Beloved Papa to his grandchildren Jennifer (Adam), Nicole (Brendan), Troy (Kelsey), Ethan, Tristan, Madeleine and Simon, and great grandfather to James, Ben, and Brody. He is survived by his sister Doris Eves, as well as his nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by the Strain family, Leslie, Lillie, Barry, Cathy and Phyllis.

 

Former Captain of the Amherst Islander and the Frontenac II, he will be mourned by many crew members who worked with him over the years.

 

Due to current restrictions, there will be a private Graveside Service at Glenwood Cemetery, Amherst Island. Those wishing to honour his memory are invited to make a donation to UHKF (Cancer Centre of Southeastern Ontario).
