It would be a privilege to consider myself a friend.... I met John 15 years ago, and although we sing in different choirs, it didn't stop me from trying so many times to get my name is his 'Little-Black-Book'. Thank-you to your Mum and Dad for their influence that ultimately helped create an outstanding friend for so many.

I finally met John face to face in 2011 after years of simply hearing his voice over the radio. He was such a kind hearted man who thought of others before himself. My family enjoyed his company very much and we loved getting to know Florence from puppyhood to big girl status (although my cats weren't as fond). The loss of John is immense. Thinking of the entire family.

My deepest condolences and sympathies to John's family, friends and colleagues at Peel Regional Police. I was on John's hiring board when he originally applied to become a member of the Peel Regional Police. He impressed all of the members of the board with his demeanour, character and respectfulness. Although I never had the opportunity after that to work directly with John, it was great to see him progress in his career and achieve success. It is very sad that he has been taken from all of us so soon. May he rest in peace.

We had the pleasure of living across the street from John John and Flo - our dogs became best friends. John would come and watch sports with my husband ( so I didn’t have to), we shared many meals and laughs together and had the opportunity of spending some time with Judy (who I know John got his sunny disposition and wit from). John was a huge part of our lives and we always said he is like the big brother we never had. I have never met a more compassionate human. Rest easy my friend, we’ll take it from here Sir.

Oh we remember the days when we all ie John, Judi ,Jodi Josi and John-John and Tim and Joanne used to go to Daytona for March break and the baseball games ... They were so much fun!. The drive down and back were equally fun.
You always wanted to be a cop .Your dad and I went to jail.
RIP my young friend.
We remember the times to this date. Thought often of your Dad and think often of your mom.

My Dad built two houses across the street from the Doran family and my Mom was Holsgrove School secretary for 17 years so we well remember Jodi, Josi and John-John.

I was fortunate to play Baseball with John John in Georgetown. Albeit only for a few years he was a great team mate. He made us all laugh, he played with all his might, defended his team mates. He loves you like a brother Mike. He’ll be with you always. With that smile he had. Kind of mischievous or also kind of going to get us in trouble smirk! He was able to get me a couple of times as a kid. Dear god. I still can’t believe that he’s gone. Thanks brother. Much love from all of us!
