I am shocked and saddened to learn of dear Shirley's very untimely passing. I want to send my sincere condolences to her husband and all other family members. I knew Shirley through many phone and email contacts from the 90s through to her retirement in 2019 as our condo manager. As I was a non-resident owner, she was a constant source of reassuring support, efficiency, and frequent help to me and I missed her losing her in that capacity. But at the same time, I was happy that she was finally going to be able to enjoy the retirement phase of life. I'm so sorry it was so short lived. Please cherish the happy memories; I'm sure she has spread many among us.

Dear Dave and family - our condolences on the death of Shirley. As residents of one of the condominium buildings Shirley managed for most of her career, we knew her as a trusted adviser and friend. She was committed to the well being of the residents and the exemplary management of the building and facilities in which our homes are situated. Over many years, she was a highly respected adviser and colleague to numerous Board of Directors, providing her expertise and common sense advise to the various challenges that arose. Shirley had many great qualities too numerous to mention, but all were grounded on a strong ethical framework, including one that stands out - her passionate advocacy for, and the protection of, the privacy of the residents who resided in the properties she managed.

My heart goes out to Shirley's family. Such a generous, talented, creative woman. Last summer we rented a cottage at Devil's Lake for a week -- Shirley vouched for us during Covid. I think of her every day as we pass by the house on our walks. I've donated to H'Art Centre. My sincere condolences.

Our heart felt condolences to all Shirleys family. We were so sad to hear this news. Our connection to Shirley was with Jacob and Special Olympics. Devin and Jacob did basketball and soccer together. We shared the sidelines together for many games and laughed together that Jacob always said Devin was his twin. (From another mother) She will be missed by many in the Special’O’ circle.

Dear Dave, Kelsey, Kyle and Jacob. I can’t tell you how much I admired Shirley as a mother, an artist, a volunteer and a friend. Pine Haven will not be the same without her. I will miss her smile, our chats and raising a glass together. I loved watching Shirley glide across the lake doing the front crawl so smoothly and effortlessly. Oh how we will all miss our Shirley. She was a loyal and supportive friend to everyone in her circle of life. Ray and I remember how welcoming she was when we first came to Pinehaven. Being newbies to trailer life, Shirley was there from the beginning to offer advise and pitch in when something needed to be fixed. We have fond memories of visits and chats at our trailers, on the swimming dock, floating lazily around in the water, sitting in the shade of the beach, camp pot lucks and music festivals. Everywhere we look in the camp, we will see Shirley’s happy image imposed on our memories. To the Ballantyne family, we share your profound sadness.
