To Sylvia and Family
Our deepest sympathy regarding Elwood's passing, may all the good memories help sooth the pain that you are feeling. In my eyes there is no one else that did so much for our village of Odessa, and our Township.Yes there has been other people that contributed to our village BUT no one...in my time...has done so much, as Elwood, and so often. I don't need to tell you what his achievements were, but I do need to say Thank You for sharing Elwood with the rest of us. It will be a very long time, that is if it every happens, that someone else will step forward and match what Elwood has done.
RIP Elwood....you are, and will always be, a Great Person, it was a privilege to have known you.

I was a good friend of Doppy in the 1950's in Odessa, and have very positive memories.
I worked with him at Babcock's Truck Body shop, played Fastball on his team in the local men's league, and was a volunteer firefighter with him for a few years.
He was a very positive guy, had a real "can-do" attitude, and faced most situations with a wonderful smile.
In summary - an all-round great guy.

A great loss. Elwood was an incredible man who lived every day of his life. I had the great fortune of spending time having long conversations over our fence. He always had a story to tell which he always did with great enthusiasm. I will miss him, his stories and especially his charismatic personality. RIP my friend.
