Obituary of Marjorie Astle (Telford)
April 11, 1928 - July 2, 2021
Marjorie has entered into the glorious presence of her Lord and Saviour and dancing with Dad in her new body. Dearly beloved wife of the late Lorne Astle. Cherished mother of Lorna-Jean, Ian (Janet) and very proud Grandma of Aletha and Adam. Predeceased by brothers John Telford (Gwen), Bob Telford (Marion) and sisters Evelyn Hogeboom (Harold) and June Brenton (Fred). Dear sister-in-law of John Astle (Joyce) of Fredericton, NB., and Aunt to several dear nieces and nephews.
Marjorie was a devoted mother and wife and spent over 20 years as a hard-working, conscientious clerk in Admissions at KGH. She was passionate about her faith in the Lord Jesus, her family and close friends and her love of reading and books. She loved to arrange bouquets of flowers whether they were picked from her garden or from along the roadside. She could make a bouquet of common weeds look like an arrangement fit for a Queen.
She was especially happy when she got to spend a part of the summer in the family home in Metis Beach on the Gaspe. Many happy family memories were made there and are still being made with the next generation. She was very fond of her 2 furry grandchildren – the cats Oreo and Gus Gus, who she required updates on every day. Marjorie’s strong determination and her faith brought her through many trials and triumphs in her life including living daily with the severe effects of a debilitating stroke the last 25 years of her life. Although deeply saddened, we rejoice she is now in heaven with a new, fully healed body and reunited with her dear soul-mate and family members. A very special thank you to all the wonderful staff at Providence Manor who were involved in her excellent care there. She was so blessed to be able to call her little cozy room on Sydenham 4 her final home on this Earth.
