Obituary of Christopher Kay O'Donnell

Please share a memory of Christopher to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Feb. 2, 1956 – July 29, 2021

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we share the news of Chris’s passing after a long, brave and courageous fight with cancer. Chris passed peacefully at his home with his loving wife Chyrle at his side on July 29, 2021.

He will be deeply missed by many family members and many dear friends. There are many happy memories, laughs and smiles, however, he leaves a large void in his family and friends lives. In keeping with Chris’ wishes, there will be no visitation and cremation has taken place.

Chris was a man who loved life. He had an amazing sense of humour and delighted in hosting friends and family in his home and at the cottage. Those years will hold a special place in the hearts of everyone who was lucky enough to be present.

Chris’s love of life included playing baseball, cards, horseshoes, fishing and being part of the Tesha Hockey League, Kingston Bowling League and avid golfer at Colonnade and then Amherstview Golf Club (or anywhere, any time – loved his golf!!). Out in his boat in the summer and snowmobiling in the winter. 40 years plus member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 623. He was an All Ontario Shuffleboard Champion numerous years.  Walking the dogs -- Chris loved animals, especially dogs, and over the past 35 years had 4 – as Chris would say “a family that walks together is a family that’s sticks together”.

We want to thank all who were there for Chris, especially his Nurses; Wendy, Sarah and Virginia and his many Doctors.

His family hopes you will view the video below and share your memories and condolences through this memorial page.

A Graveside Service will be held at the Lutheran-Union Cemetery, Ham Road, Millhaven, Ontario on Friday July 29, 2022 at 1:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Amherstview Golf Club beginning at 2:30 pm.

The tears have fallen since Chris left us. Now is the time to smile and celebrate the life he led and how he touched us all. Please bring a warm and happy memory to share.
