Obituary of Carole Allen (Johnson)

Our mom, Carole Eleanore Allen passed away peacefully September 12, 2021, at the age of 80. She was surrounded by love of close family. Daughter of the late Hugh and Thelma, sister of Jack (Margorie), Ginni (Ted) and Lu-Anne. Proud mother of Robert (Angela), Lawrence (Lisa) and William (Monique). Cherished grandmother of Julia, Charlotte, Jordan, Kristen, Matthew, Scotty, Kendra, Marla, Iris and Stella, and great grandmother of Posie and Frances. Dear aunt of Holly, Angela and Scott, and great aunt of Katie, Abbey, Hannah, Erin, Carter and Lauren.

Our mom graduated from Queen’s University and worked as a Parole Officer for Corrections Canada, but her full time job until she passed was being a loving, caring mother and grandmother. Her family was always most important and she treasured time spent with her boys and their families. Mom’s self driven determination and independence was an inspirational gift to all three of us (her boys). Mom enjoyed travel with friends and family where she was able to relax and enjoy their company. Her favourite team sport was baseball and she cheered vigorously for the Blue Jays, of course. We treasured a few Mother’s Day celebrations enjoying the Jays live at the park. Her great cooking has lead to three decent size boys and a published cook book. This leaves us such a great legacy to enjoy her recipes and love of cooking. Gramma always loved to take each of her grandchildren strawberry and apple picking each year and then taught them the art of baking.

Special thanks to her friend Joan (neighbour) for being so kind and providing endless meals and Mimosas!! Thank you to all the home nurses and to the nurses at Providence Care who took great care of mom and made her feel special. Thank you Mom for everything. You will be greatly missed and forever loved. Your proud boys, Robbie, Larry and Billy xo….too-da-loo.

A Graveside Service will be held at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens in Glenburnie on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 12 pm. Friends of the family are asked to please confirm their attendance for the Graveside Service by clicking the RSVP tab under the service information on Carole’s memorial page at www.paynefuneralhome.com (Please include all names of those attending).
