Dear Doris and family. We are so sadden to hear of the passing of Mike.
We have only known you both for a few years but considered you both as very good friends. We have many fond memories of evenings at Barrett Court enjoying great conversations, visiting the lake, long walks and wandering around Kingston. We discovered that we had also spent many years in Pointe Claire and frequented Brasserie Le Manoir among other places. We loved Mike's kindness, honesty and sense of humor.
Doris, we will keep Mike and your family in our thoughts and prayers. He will be missed by us and I am sure many more friends.
Please let us know if there is anything we can help.
Katie and Juan.
My family that had the pleasure of meeting Mike were also saddened to hear of your loss and send their condolences.
Marite, Neil, Carter , Christopher and Jennifer.
Theresa and Keith, Matt and Sharon, Kevin and Ann.

Doris, Matt, Bill and Graham and all Mike's family. Michael and I are so unbelievably sad that you have lost Mike. For me he was the greatest cousin growing up. We were so lucky to spend vacations at his grandparent's cottage, and then at cottages or beaches with our extended family. Looking back I guess that's where he developed his love of the outdoors and of family too. Our sincere apologies for not being able to be with you in person today but know that we are in spirit. Love and hugs to all. Michael and Virginia

Doris I cannot believe this has happened. Deb & I send our condolences to your and family. My mountain man left too early. So many memories of adventures, fun and conversations. I really got to know Mike When a buddy of ours back out travelling to Europe with me and than Mike told me he was interested in going, so it began ! Can’t believe it was 46 years ago. He got to see the Eiger one of Europe’s famous climbing mountain. If we had the equipment I am sure he would of tried to scale it. We drank wine at 3 am on Dijon railway station platform with the local wine connoisseur, slept with the cows on the Normandy coast. Got terribly drunk at the Hofbrauhaus in Munchen , sat on top of a cliff as the fog lifted and revealed the most beautiful fiord in Norway, have quite the tale of eating grapes in Amsterdam never to be told !
That was just our trip to Europe. There are so many more memories living and working in the Montreal area. Going to miss Mike and wished we had rehashed our adventures more often. Doris hold his hand and hug him everyday!

Doris, Matt & Family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all in this difficult time. Mike was a good and kind man, he always spent time talking to me when I was younger at the many Christmas dinners on Brigadoon about hockey, fishing or pool. I will always remember the debates and discussions he would be right in the middle of in the TV room at the back of the house and how interesting his input would make them. He will surely be missed.
Our sincere sympathy,
Ben, Bonnie, Hayden, Judah & Jackson

I’m so sorry to hear about the passing of uncle Mike, my heart is with aunt Doris and the rest of the family. I have such fond memories of Christmas at Brigadoon with the family and although I was young, I remember uncle Mike coming down to the basement to hangout with the kids while we ran around, probably screaming, and played games, hiding from the adults for a while. He was patient with us and was always so kind to me, I cherish all those memories. I hope the sharing of memories brings some comfort, and my thoughts and deepest sympathies are with the rest of the family. Uncle Mike, you will be missed.

Our sincere condolences to Doris, the Children and the Family from the Coveny's.
Memories of Mike date back to our childhood family gatherings as Cousins; hence the early picture of him around 1967. As all have said, and even back then, Mike was always kind to us younger cousins and and was ready with a smile or a joke.
He also made a deep impression on his Uncle Art who used to love Mike's political and historical (war) debates - which continued as he and my Dad aged. Mike's strong sense of standing up for what is right always came through and is my fond memory of a good man.
While at this difficult time, it may be hard to find solace, may you treasure the memories and may a simple Irish saying bring some comfort as it did for us in the past:
“Those we love don’t go away, They walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always near, Still loved, still missed and
very dear.”
- God Bless you Mike... until we meet again.

In Memory
My brother Mike is one year older than me; I am in the middle and my younger brother Bill being five years younger.
Mike was my dear brother but also my dear friend. We did not see enough of each other as we got older somehow drifting apart but our love for each other never faded.
As kids we did the usual things that little brats do; playing, fighting and arguing. We titled the fights WWF Brigadoon and were careful to remove the furniture from the living room and only did so when Mom and Dad went out. Bill would join in and this was great for us as he was younger and smaller and therefore an easier target (Sorry Bill)
The best memories were the times spent with Mike while vacationing in Honey Harbor, Ontario and Lake Winnipisakey in New Hampshire enjoying many days of swimming and water skiing. As we grew older, our attention grew to girl friends and partying with friends at le Brasserie Manoir and other drinking establishments where we became cherished customers. (The waiters knew Mike’s name by heart). This was the time when a draft of beer set you back ten cents; fake ID’s were the norm and forgetting how you got home that night yet your car was parked perfectly in the driveway.
As we know, Mike’s favorite past times were found in the outdoors where his passions for water sports, hiking, camping, boating, climbing and canoeing where the order of the day. My wife Sue and I lived briefly in Rouyn Noranda situated in Northern Quebec and invited Mike for a visit. After a couple of days, he became restless so he headed farther north and camped in the Baie James region – just a tribute to his exploration. He had the chance to travel to Europe with his friend Pete Hogan and at the age of seventeen actually climbed the lower slopes of the Matterhorn which straddles the border of Switzerland and Italy. Mike and Pete also found a way to close the many bars and pubs during their visit, yet another passion.
We were lucky enough to share many of the same friends as we grew up; namely Sue & Jacques, Gary, Pete & Anne, Carol, Zip Zak, Bob, D.A., Henry, Dibs, Johnny and many more.
Mike was never afraid to voice his opinion and argue his point whether it be religion, hippies in the seventies or politics. Our father and he would go at each other during dinner time until Mom would lose her temper and finally tell them to ‘Shut up’. Neither of them would win the argument but it was a tradition played often. At the end of the day I had to respect Mike for his tenacity and drive and I have now learned the belief that stubbornness reigns in the Luck clan including our children.
Mike married Doris in Montreal where they soon after became proud parents of a boy, Matthew. Matthew went on to be an outstanding athelete, playing organized hockey and soccer and the weight training. Mike took an active role with his son; coaching in a hockey league and even lifting weights with him in the garage.
Mike was our big brother, a quiet protector, a loyal worker, a family man with strong opinions and always there to lend a hand with a hearty smile.
We love you and we will miss you, As the singer Vince Gill wrote in his country song.
‘Go rest high on that mountain’
Graham

Mike was such a genuine, kind, and helpful guy. No matter the circumstance, time of day, or what he had going on, he was always ready to help out. He was a great story teller, and some of my best memories with him would be listening to him talk of his younger years with Doris, or his many camping trips. He will be deeply missed. I am thankful and grateful for the time I was able to share with him. Doris - I am so sorry for your loss, my condolences go out to you and your family during this difficult time.

Doris & Family,
We are devastated at Mike's passing. He was truly a light of hope, a sincere friend, honest, extremely smart and a wonderful husband and father. He absolutely adored all of his kids and grandkids and spoke highly of each and every one. We enjoyed some great trips together to NYC and on the St. Lawrence River and always had a campfire load of laughs. Many friends come and go in life but Mike made a huge impact on ours. He will be dearly missed. XOXO

Mike was part of the Thompson Chrysler family and will be missed very very much by all that work there. He was one of the nicest men I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and of calling my friend. He would drop whatever he was doing to give a hand to myself and any co-workers who needed help, and all with a smile! I enjoyed our talks about boxing and many other things while at work. He will be very much missed.
