I was saddened to read that Hubert has passed! Hubert had been a neighbour of our family for a lot of years. His favourite chair was on his front verandah as he spent so much time watching over the neighborhood. He was our Watchman of the hood! After I moved out of the hood, I would occasionally drive by, see Hubert and Rose on the verandah and I would pull in and have a chat! He always showed his respect by attending every funeral of the older neighbours that passed, including both my parents. I truly hope that he is now having a good old gab fest with all his neighbour hood friends that went before him. I’m sure our kind Watchman has lots of stories to tell! He was a special man!
My condolences to Steve, Pam, Stephanie, Rose and the rest of his family! I know you will miss him! It won’t be the same for me when I drive by and not see him sitting on the verandah!
